This young man has quite an impressive resume. Please take the time to read his story and background.
As a child growing up in Harlem, Barr’s biggest dream was to become a Performer. He has been blessed to have a mother and father who have supported his musical endeavors since the age of five (5). Barr’s parents also instilled in him the strength, morals and values to succeed as he goes forward on his musical journey.
He began taking piano lessons under the direction of his father at the age of four (4) years old. Barr later continued his studies at the Harlem School of the Arts. This is where his love of music truly began to blossom. Barr attended the Choir Academy of Harlem where in 2005 he graduated Salutatorian. At the academy he maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout his high school studies. He was also a member of the Boys Choir of Harlem starting as a Soprano, then an Alto, and currently a Tenor. He was fortunate to perform several solos in the choir, and worked as an assistant choreographer for the choir. Since his years as a member of the Choir Academy/Boys Choir of Harlem he have had the privilege of performing and recording with many world renown artist(s), such as: Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Regina Bell, Lionel Richie, P. Diddy, Destiny’s, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Vanessa Williams, Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, Brian Mcknight, Mase, Kanye West, the movie “Glory” soundtrack and Pepsi.
Also, notables/humanitarians such as: President Bush, President Clinton, Mayor Bloomberg, Mayor Giulliani, Mayor David Dinkins, Congressman Charles Rangel, Honorable Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, Cantor Fitzgerald, Lockheed Martin , Greater New Entertainment, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, John Travolta, Lena Horne, Carmen Delavalade, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Vienna Boys Choir, Vienna Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Seiji Ozawa, Kurt Masur, John Williams, Yo-Yo Ma, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, and Jessye Norman.
As a member of the Choir, he has had the opportunity to partake in other programs relevant to music. One of which was a prestigious program at The Boston University Tanglewood Institute where he attended for two consecutive summers on a music scholarship. Throughout his tenure with the Choir he has traveled to all fifty states in the United States, including countries such as Holland, Israel, Japan, Vienna, Canada, Puerto Rico and Turkey.
Currently Barr is a Senior at Lincoln University (the first Historically Black College/University in the country) in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. Barr is currently majoring in Music Education with a minor in Business Management. He is also apart of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, National Pan Hellenic Council and many other leading organizations on campus.
Barr has been recording on a solo level for two years and have completed a compilation of several songs, many of which he have written. He has also ghostwritten and produced for other artists. Now that Barr is embarking on his final journey in college, he knows that he will have more time and energy to dedicate to his music and modeling career. He has acquired the Management of Tawag Music and the promotional and PR services of Tawag Promotions.
His new management is currently working on a national and international promotion campaign. Barr has a busy schedule ahead of him as he will be working on major mix-tape campaigns hosted by such known DJs as DJ Ames, DJ Junior, DJ Sapo, DJ Slick, DJ Dleak, and many, many more. Barr will also be working a Paris mix-tape with renowned DJ Nasty Nas. Barr has been chosen by Polo “The Fur King” to create an original track for part two of his documentary. He will also be featured on nationally known magazines and nationally known websites/blog sites. All of which he will be doing while working on his second LP. He has a lot in his future and in the words of his manager “Barr is not about words; but actions”. As Barr embarks on these ventures his fan base is growing and will continue. In the words of Barr “I am a Singer, Songwriter, Vocal Arranger, Pianist, Dancer and Actor pursuing my childhood dream.”
