WP Rally |
At 3pm yesterday, two Workers' Party activists, including organising secretary Ng Swee Bee, were the first in line in the overnight queue for rally sites, beating five People's Action Party activists by mere seconds.
The political parties will be out to snare a good site on a preferred day for the elections, when a record number of seats are likely be contested.
The list of sites will be announced only after the list of contested constituencies are confirmed after 1pm today. Bookings for rally sites can only be made a day in advance by a candidate or an elections agent and is given out on a first-come first-served basis.
There are three time slots for each site and bookings can only be made for one site at one time slot each time.
According to one of those in the queue yesterday, each of the proxies outside the police elections liaison office kept to themselves, no one disclosing the constituency they were queuing for.
