Jamie Foxx Gets Star on Walk of Fame
Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx was immortalized on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame" on Friday, becoming the 2,347th celebrity to have a star bearing his name laid on the sidewalk.
Foxx, winner of the best actor Academy Award in 2005 for his portrayal of soul singer Ray Charles in "Ray," paid tribute to his grandmother during a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard.
"My grandmother's gotta be spreading her wings and flying around in heaven, just so happy," the 39-year-old entertainer quipped to reporters.
Foxx, who also starred in hit musical "Dreamgirls," is to appear in action-thriller "The Kingdom" later this month.
Meanwhile Foxx had words of support for troubled singer Britney Spears, whose comeback performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend has been savaged by critics this week.
"I think Britneys gonna be fine," Foxx said. "I think that she was courageous to get up there and do her thing. I wish her well for that." (SOURCE)
